iOS 5 Untethered Jailbreak Now a Reality
An untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 was demoed by iPhone hacker pod2g today.
Back in November, pod2g announced that he found a bug that can untether iOS 5. It is obvious that he has been working hard on an exploit, which is probably being polished off before a public release. Although there have been claims that the jailbreak relies on Charlie Miller‘s code signing vulnerability, pod2g denied it, saying that an untether for iOS 5.0.1 should be out quickly
Hopefully we will see an untether before the end of the month. Also, if we’re lucky, a jailbreak for A5 devices will be released by one of the jailbreak developers soon.
UPDATE: iOS 5.0.1 has been untethered.
